African American Vernacular English has gone viral. “Beyoncé’s Internet”, “Standing on Business”, “Ratchet”, and “Period” are just a few examples of a shared lexicon for our social media age. Verb tenses (“the scream that I scrumpt”), the precise intersections of f@%k(ing) around and find(ing) out, plus AAVE on news broadcasts, follow a long tradition of Black Americana as the blueprint for pop culture.

GOOD|BAD|BLACK|MOVIE|BINGO means that those shout-at-the-screen-shenanigans are a GUARANTEE for your next watch party!

GAME PLAY INSTRUCTIONS:

Evenly distribute the deck among players. Set aside any remaining cards.*

Each player arranges their cards face up.

Select a movie from the platform of your choice. (Note: An IMDB rating of 5 or below is highly recommended.)

See your card on the screen? SHOUT IT OUT, but be prepared to defend the flip of the Flick. A positive group consensus means that you can turn your card face down.

If all your cards are flipped, you know what to do – “GOOD|BAD|BLACK|MOVIE|BINGO”, for the win!**

*Use remainder cards as tiebreakers.
** Like A Tribe Called Quest, “BINGO!” just won’t cut it – you’ve got to say the whole thing.

INTENDED FOR 6-10 PLAYERS | Got a larger group? Combine multiple decks.
